My friends and I are always on the lookout for
new and exciting places to see in Baja. So, when Rob mentioned a small
trip to try to reach Canon del Diablo, we jumped at the chance.
The road to the entrance to the canyon is off
of Highway 3, north of San Felipe. Heading south, then east across a dry
lake bed, the road was in generally good condition. However, a violent
summer storm came along, and the lake bed became very muddy. Robert's truck
eventually became stuck in the mud, and the storm approached quickly. After
a couple of hours digging the truck out of the muck, we headed back to
the dirt road, and down to San Felipe. The quest to reach Canon del Diablo
would have to be set for another day. |
