San Ignacio (and points south)

The small town of "San Ignacio" is located in one of the most impressive regions in Baja. After traveling for miles and miles and seeing nothing but desert, the town is indeed a sight for sore eyes. The area around San Ignacio is fed by the Rio San Ignacio, and the town itself is an oasis in the middle of the desert. Palm trees line throughout the region, and the greenery is most welcome for someone who's traveled through regions of dust and dryness for miles.
To me, the most impressive part of San Ignacio is the mission located in town. Very well kept up, and still in use, the mission is made up mostly of lava rocks, thanks to the 3 volcanoes found in the region, collectively called "Las Tres Virgenes".
San Ignacio has a true, old Mexico style about it. The town seems very laid back, if not lazy, and the people are genuinely friendly and very helpful. You feel like you are a million miles away when you visit San Ignacio.
